There is magic in the air today!

This card combo is an excellent reminder of how, in my experience, manifestation actually works.

We as humans often have the power to get whatever we want. But we are also capable of a great deal of self sabotage along the way. We are also subject to socioeconomic and cultural forces that we cannot easily change, as well as the nature of our personality and nurture of how we were raised.

It is flat out spiritual bypassing to say if you ask ye shall receive. There’s an old adage that says “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” The Law of Attraction, while helpful to understand, is just one (westernized and wh!tewashed) law of the universe. No shade to Esther, but she spends her life preaching to the converted from luxury cruise ships. It’s a kind of manifestation that ignores global political and economic realities.

Another barrier to manifestation is that we often don’t know what we truly desire, so because we feel unprepared or undeserving of receiving our dream come true, we unintentionally manifest a life that is unsatisfying. Wh!te culture does not want to imagine itself away via a vision of radical liberation. So instead of manifesting an entirely new way of being in the world, we ask for what is expected of us – a house, car, job, and new technology.

True manifestation requires alignment of many elements. You must be clear on your goal. It must match what you really want. You must believe that you can achieve it AND that you are worthy of receiving it. You must ignore folx who tell you your dream is weird or impossible. You must begin to act, think, and create with the confidence that what you desire is on its way to you. And you must release expectations or demands of a predetermined timeliness.

Whew! Manifestation is the merging of magic, art, and science. And in encompasses all the things we do to make our dreams a reality.

I believe the ability to create reality from our wild new ideas is what makes us uniquely human. It is why we find ourselves in the Anthropocene era.

And with this power, of course, comes great responsibility to self and others to create a just world.
