The Leaves of Grass Oracle

Inspired by the poetry of Walt Whitman

I've always been moved by Walt Whitman's expansive, celebratory vision of humanity—his belief that every blade of grass, every body, every soul deserves to be sung. This deck is my love letter to his work.

This 50-card oracle deck draws directly from the pages of Whitman's poetry collection Leaves of Grass, combining public domain text with one-word keywords and corresponding imagery. The art is inspired by Victorian-era illustrations by Margaret Cook, with soft colors evoking the turn-of-the-century aesthetic.

Themes throughout the deck include transcendental and romantic ideas: life, dreams, the body, and universal love. These are cards for the reader who finds the sacred in the everyday and the universal in the personal.

If you love this deck, you might also enjoy the Gatsby Oracle and the Where Alice Went Wonderland Oracle — similar in spirit and design.
