Count The Ways: A Poet’s Oracle
For poets and poetry lovers!
Count The Ways: A Poet’s Oracle is a gorgeous, colorful, 36-card tarot size deck made for artists, poets, card readers, or anyone who is looking for a charge of creative energy!
Each card is a portal into the world and language of a specific poet.
The cards feature original analog, hand cut and pasted collage art that has been scanned into digital form, embellished with additional art layers, and finished with a few lines of a poem from each of 36 different poets. All of the poems are in the public domain, having been published prior to 1927.
Included in each deck is an extensive, full color 20 page guidebook with the name of each poet in alphabetical order, the lines that are also printed on the poet's card, the poem that the lines are taken from, the years the poet was active and where they primarily lived, the school or style with which the poet is associated, and major themes of the poet's work.
Also included is one of my most popular deck features, the three card spread for each poet. This way you can easily use this oracle deck in combination with your tarot deck. Simply pull a card from the Count the Ways deck, then use the associated three-card spread with your tarot card for a complete divination reading.
The deck comes with a full-color tuck box that I also designed and which can double as a spread cloth if desired.
The 40 cards are a standard Tarot deck size (2.75 x 4.75 inch) professionally printed on 12pt 320gsm black-core matte card stock with a protective UV coating.
This deck came from my love for and extensive study of poetry. I have a B.A. in American literature with an emphasis on modern American poetry. I have been reading, studying, and writing poetry my whole life. My hope for this deck is that it carry the magic of language to inspire and delight readers, writers, artists, mystics, and any other creative person who is captivated by the written word.
