2023: A Chariot Year

The Chariot card from my upcoming Wild Life Tarot deck.

2023 is a “7” year in numerology, (2+0+2+3 = 7) and as such it corresponds to the Chariot card in the major arcana of a traditional tarot deck. It also happens to be my personal life number and tarot card, since my birthday is also a “7” (4+6+1+9+7+7 = 34, 3+4 = 7). With my natal sun in Aries and my moon in Scorpio, I’m no stranger to being pulled in different directions. In human design, my profile is 2/4 (hermit/opportunist) and I am constantly feeling the tug of the collective need versus my own personal desire. I have to be alone to create, but my creations mean nothing if they are not seen and used by a community. It’s a delicate balance that I feel like I’ve walked my whole life but am just beginning to understand.

Like the Chariot, I must navigate gracefully between the care of self and the demands of community. Pull too much either way, and the Chariot will tip over.

Ironically, or perhaps serendipitously, Grace is my middle name. A Chariot year is an opportunity for me to embrace my own personal power, and with Jupiter crossing my Aries Sun and Venus in the 10th house this spring, I think big things are in store.

I’ve been thinking about how I want to use this blog to best serve my creative energy. I’ve re-started my Patreon, and have been bouncing back and forth between “free” and “exclusive” in terms of where to post different things that I want to share. I do want to write more and share about my creative process this year. I would also like to develop my creative practice in ways that brings my work to a wider and more diverse audience.

One of the reasons I’ve fallen in love with creating oracle decks is because I get to put a little bit of magick at people’s fingertips. I’ve created a piece of beauty that is not only functional, but hopefully helps to serve the greater good by assisting in our collective evolution.

I would love to help more interested folks find my work, and perhaps a regular blogging practice is a part of that. I sense that old-fashioned, long form writing may be a trend as we see different social media platforms reach the end of their useful (creative) life.

I think I’ve settled on keeping “patron exclusive” contest only behind the Patreon paywall, and reigniting this space as a regular forum for my creative journey, as well as my weekly collective divination readings. I really enjoy reading for the collective, and ethically feel that keeping this free offering is a cornerstone of my creative and spiritual work.

With that said I intend to have more regular posts to share in this space moving forward, as well as offering continued exclusive content on my Patreon.

Happy new year to all and thank you for joining me on my personal and creative journey!
