When We Are Gone
When We Are Gone
mother earth retains her
satisfaction
at our delayed departure
giant tigers and
dinosaur cars
roam the earth
ravens eavesdrop on the
plans of whales
it is her reward
for tolerating us
resisting our advances
three hundred thousand years
just a blink of her eye
a nuisance of dust
the rubbish of our judgment
finally extinguished
she is free again
