New Moon in Gemini

Collective reading for the New Moon in Gemini 2023. For this month’s reading I used the Wild Life Tarot and the Leaves of Grass Oracle.

An update on my current progress:

Four of Wands + Shore

Seeds that were planted with the intention of inspiring growth at the new moon are beginning to sprout. This moon cycle, the first after a series of eclipses has proven to be a fruitful one and our intentions and manifestations have been paired with inspired action to create positive results. Now is the time to ensure that all resources are in place and that crucial plans have been communicated to key people so that the next phase of development can begin.

Something that needs to be said:

The Devil + Wave

It may be necessary to communicate harsh truths to someone who is in danger of being pulled under by their actions, beliefs, or circumstances. They do not appear to have the perspective necessary to save themselves, and as a result they may have entered into deep water without a live preserver. Help them see that there is a way out of the undertow and, within your means and boundaries, offer to throw them a rope.

Something that is coming to light:

Knight of Cups (rev) + Reflecting

After the pressure of the recent family holiday, you may be feeling drained, like your cup is empty. This is not necessarily a bad thing given the circumstance — sometimes it feels good to work hard and give your all in the service of others. It is important, however, to take some time now to consider your own needs and engage in activities that will help you refill your cup. The holiday rush is just beginning, and you want to have reserves in place for the long haul.

Advice on creating balance:

Four of Cups (rev) + Stars

I have been getting this card a lot in my own daily card pull for myself. One message of this moon cycle seems to be creating balance between your own priorities and addressing the needs of others. This also aligns with the current nodal placement on the Aries-Libra axis, an astrological transit that asks us to examine the relationship we hold with self and with community. Again, there is no right answer here and the correct balance will depend on a number of factors including your personality, beliefs, personal and professional responsibilities, and geographic location. The important thing is that you stay mindful of the dynamic push-pull of you and everyone else so that you can align your actions in a way that ensures your safety and well-being.

A different perspective:

Eight of Swords + Together

I love this card combo as it really reminds me that we are never alone in our fear, worry, and anxiety. Sometimes it seems like we are the only ones that feel the way that we do, and this can lead to loneliness and isolation as we perceive ourselves to be alienated from the shiny happy lives of others. Social media feeds on this condition, only showing us curated takes on life that will keep us glued to our screens like we are home alone looking out an upstairs window on the world going by. But this is not reality — in the real world, we are all connected not by likes and follows but by energetic threads of fate. The human condition is shared by us all and we all feel scared and discouraged sometimes. Recognize that there is nothing you will experience that hasn’t been felt by another human at some time in our vast communal existence. We are all in this together.

Advice from spirit:

Seven of Pentacles + Words

Our final insight from this Gemini moon is that our words matter. We speak our reality into existence, and this reality is a legacy that will shape the world for our current community and for generations to come. This does not mean that we must be perfect in everything we say and do. But it does ask us to consider the weight of what we make real, and to work hard to align our speech with our intention and action so that when we manifest, we can feel confident that it is what we desire it to be. Words are spells, and whether we are posting an infographic on social media or chatting over coffee with a friend, this mon invites us to treat our communication with the sacred respect that it deserves.
